The 204th executive committee meeting of Liberal International took place online with 132 registered delegates from 45 countries and 6 regions of the world.
On 1 — 3 October 2021, the global liberal family convened as LI members who took part in three days of discussion, voting, and policy development. With so many great developments to come out of this meeting that advances LI’s shared work towards a more liberal-democratic world some of the highlights includes:
New member parties
Congratulations to our new observer member parties, all approved by voting delegates.
We also added two new think tanks to broaden our capacity for policy development.
The addition of these new parties perfectly demonstrates the growing appeal of liberalism outside of its traditional strongholds and we are thrilled to welcome them and look forward to our future cooperation.
New policy papers
The LI climate justice committee and fair trade working groups both submitted substantial policy documents to provide LI with a basis to further develop its voice in these essential areas.
