While the essence of democracy cannot yet be said to be the norm across Asia right now, Liberal International has a proud tradition of supporting Liberal Democratic parties and persons in their fight to win greater freedoms. We do this alongside our dynamic regional organisation, the Council of Asian Liberals and Democrats (CALD).
The party was founded in 2012 as a merger between the Sam Rainsy Party and Human Rights Party, CNRP joined LI in 2006 at the Marrakesh Congress as Sam Rainsy Party.
