Cooperating Organisations

ALN is an organization composed of 44 political parties from 30 countries in Africa. The network developed from what was originally the Organisation of African Liberal Parties and was established during an initial meeting of parties in Mombasa, Kenya in July 2001.

The Council of Asian Liberals and Democrats (CALD) was inaugurated in Bangkok in 1993, with the support of then Thai Prime Minister Chuan Leekpai and South Korea’s Kim Dae-Jung.

Egyptian Democratic Association (EDA) joined Liberal International in 2025 as cooperating organisation at the Hague Executive Committee meeting.

Europe-Georgia Institute (EGI) joined Liberal International in 2025 as cooperating organisation at the Hague Executive Committee meeting.

Established in 1958 by Theodor Heuss, the first president of the Federal Republic of Germany, FNF promotes individual freedom and liberalism. The Foundation follows the ideals of the Protestant theologian, Friedrich Naumann.

Libro Aperto is a non-partisan periodical of liberal democratic culture founded by Giovanni Malagodi, former President of Liberal International from 1958 till 1966 and from 1982 until 1989.

Fondazione Luigi Einaudi was founded by Giovanni Malagodi in 1962, former President of Liberal International from 1958 till 1966 and from 1982 until 1989. Fondazione Luigi Einaudi is a research centre that promote the study and circulation of liberal political thinking.

Founded in 2003, Relial is a network of 39 liberal institutions from 18 Latin American countries.

The Al Hurriya Liberal Network (AHLN) is a network of liberal political parties in the Middle East and North African region founded on 20 March 2021. AHLN joined Liberal International in 2022 at the 75th Anniversary Congress in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Formed in the late 1980s from the Folkpartiet. SILC is a liberal assistance foundation that promotes democracy and human rights.

Founded in 1983 shortly after the United States Congress created the National Endowment for Democracy (NED). NDI is a non-partisan, non-profit organization that works with partners in developing countries to increase the effectiveness of democratic institutions.

The European Liberal Forum (ELF) is a political foundation at the European level affiliated to the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe Party. Founded in 2007, ELF brings together liberal think thanks, political foundations, and institutes from around Europe.
