The 63rd Congress of Liberal International took place in Sofia, Bulgaria with nearly 300 delegates from over 60 countries and 6 regions of the world.
On 30 June – 3 July 2022, the global liberal family convened as LI members who took part in three days of discussion, voting, and policy development. With so many great developments to come out of this meeting that advances LI’s shared work towards a more liberal-democratic world some of the highlights include:
New member parties
Congratulations to our new full & observer member parties, all approved by voting delegates.

We strengthened our regional reach by welcoming a new Regional Organisation.
We also added three new think tanks to broaden our capacity for policy development.
The addition of these new parties perfectly demonstrates the growing appeal of liberalism outside of its traditional strongholds and we are thrilled to welcome them and look forward to our future cooperation.
New policy papers
The LI Human Rights & Climate Justice committees both submitted substantial policy documents to provide LI with a basis to further develop its voice in these essential areas.
