US SUPREME COURT DECISION

On June 24th the Supreme Court of USA dealt a serious blow to women’s human rights and gender equality reversing the verdict Roe v. Wade, the verdict once giving US women the right to abortion. This new verdict will deprive hundreds of thousands of women the right to make informed choices. Abortions will not disappear, instead it will put women’s lives at risk. This decision strips such autonomy from millions of women, in particular those with low incomes and those belonging to racial and ethnic minorities.
There is also the threat that other human rights will be withdrawn by the Supreme Court.
It is to be noted that the Anti-abortion, anti-gender lobby in USA finances similar actions in other parts of the world.
