Cape Town 2010

The 185th Executive Committee Meeting of Liberal International, which will be held from 13-14 November 2010 in Cape Town, South Africa. This meeting will be hosted by South Africa’s Democratic Alliance (DA – LI full member) and its leader Helen Zille, Premier of the Western Cape Province.

The Democratic Alliance, and its predecessors, has long served as a strong liberal voice for South Africa, championing our shared values of human rights, individual liberties and the free market. Tracing it’s earliest roots to the anti-Apartheid movement of the 1970’s and the 1980s, many of the early party activists have achieved worldwide recognition for their work in the promotion of human rights, including the late Helen Suzman (2002 LI Prize for Freedom laureate) and LI Patron Colin Eglin.
