The global liberal family is celebrating together with Dutch liberals VVD and D66 (LI full members) after a resounding election success which saw both parties emerge number one and number two with the largest and second-largest number of MPs respectively in the recent parliamentary elections in the Netherlands. Building on the remarkable success of the Dutch liberals, Liberal International President of Honour and President of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, Hans van Baalen, was appointed to the Advisory Council on International Affairs.

LI President of Honour Hans van Baalen has called for Taiwan’s urgent admission to the World Health Organisation (WHO) to aid in the global fight against intensifying international health crises.
