The explosion in Beirut, Lebanon on August 4th shocked the world; entire neighbourhoods of the city were wiped out in seconds, leaving thousands upon thousands injured and hundreds dead or missing. The damage is extensive and the Lebanese people are in need of support through this difficult time.
The Fundraiser
An organisation of volunteers, named Lebanon 2.0, founded by LIDTA participants, has so far distributed more than 110 000 meals to those made homeless by the blast; they have collaborated closely with World Center Kitchen and the city’s Rotary Club.
Their next campaign, Light up Beirut, aims to support those same people as we enter the colder months of the year. In order to donate, simply follow the link here where you can choose from a list of specific items or simply enter a desired amount.
Thus, the fundraising platform has been fully set up – the only thing left is to show Lebanon how the Liberal family stand by our humanitarian principles!
