Six years ago Liberal International and VVD International launched the Liberal International Democratic Training Academy (LIDTA). We are happy to announce that after five successful iterations of this programme will continue for the 7th year special edition in 2026-2027 – The LIDTA Alumni Accelerator
Today we send out the Call for Applications!
Introduction:
LIDTA is Liberal International’s and VVD International’s dedicated training academy for politically oriented, high potential, and talented youth. The academy will be offering one course broken down into multiple modules, across multiple weekends, wherein a carefully selected group of highly qualified individuals will be trained on different personal and political skills that prepare graduates for successful political careers in the 21st century. The Academy’s curriculum offers interactive training on the most contemporary and effective political strategies to date, as well as equipping participants with the tools to build on their leadership skills. Drawing on the training experience of one of the world’s most successful liberal political parties, like the VVD, a faculty of internationally recognised expert trainers lead students throughout the process, ensuring the highest quality supervision and development support.
Timeline:
The Democratic Training Academy Accelerator will convene on 18-20 September 2026 in Antalya, Türkiye.
Participants:
This is an advanced training programme convened with some of the most experienced political trainers in the world – to apply for the 2026 accelerator programme you must have completed a full LIDTA course in previous years.
You will be an energetic, politically active, high potential youth with an interest in and experience in promoting freedom, individualism, democracy and human rights in their communities. You will be able to demonstrate how you took your time on an earlier LIDTA programme and transformed this into real political action in our home country of internationally.
Those who apply must be committed to take part in all LIDTA events organized both digitally and in person.
Essential Eligibility Criteria:
— Ongoing experience in politics and connected to a member party of LI or ALN or AHLN
— From the MENA-region (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey)
— Ability to work confidently in English
— Graduate of an earlier LIDTA programme
Application Process:
Participants must submit a brief motivation letter (no more than 450 words), CV, and confirmation that they are affiliated to an LI recognised regional network , before Close of Business 26 July 2026. Applicants must include in their application the year they took part in a LIDTA programme. All documentation must be submitted to to internationaal@vvd.nl and william@liberal-international.org, interviews with the selected candidates will be held online in early August 2026.
