In the heat of the United Kingdom’s most severe political crises in decades, liberals from around the world came together in London in a show of strength and solidarity with the Liberal Democrats and Alliance Party (UK, LI full member) to deliver a politically-charged 202nd executive committee meeting.
While the Brexit debacle paralyses the country, Liberal International drew 150 delegates from 46 countries to the United Kingdom to demonstrate political leadership and present constructive responses to some of the world’s most difficult problems. Over two days, LI members tackled challenging issues on climate change with government experts, kicked-off a communications partnership with member parties, launched an online tool to better support women in politics, elected a new human rights committee, and passed a number of headline-making resolutions!
