The Liberal International Congress
Expresses strong support for all UN endorsed agreements signed since 19 September 2002 by Ivorian political parties and New Forces in order to reach a more lasting peace in Côte d’Ivoire;
Calls on the African Union (AU), the European Union (EU), and the United Nations (UN) to fully cooperate in the organization of open, fair, transparent and credible elections in Côte d’Ivoire;
Urges the AU, the EU and the UN to contribute to the disarmament and the dismantling of all militia and paramilitary groups and to help resolve security issues in Côte d’Ivoire particularly with regards to candidates, political leaders and the civilian population.
