CAHDI Party’s insistence for a roadmap for the democratisation of Somalia

Submitted by CAHDI Party

LI expresses our strongest concerns about the political instability, worsening insecurity, violation of human rights and constitutional crisis in Somalia caused by President Mahamud’s insistence of tampering constitutional mandate and the parliamentary system into presidential.

LI urges Implementing federalism, deradicalisation of national institutions, upholding rule of law eliminating extremists and political inclusiveness are the basic mechanism to conduct fundamental direction for the roadmap national democratisation of 2025.

Further, LI congress fully supports its full member CAHDI Party stance to uphold rule of law and its 2025 vision for universal suffrage through constitutional base.

LI calls on the international community to organise a fact-finding mission to scrutinise government’s role of expansion of extremism rather than elimination of the Al-Shabaab founders & terror organisations allied Al Qaida terrorist participation in decision making of democratic institutions, and their obstructing efforts to move forward democratisation.

LI urges inclusive democratic transition to reach political stability that will lead Somalia on a massive political tragedy.

Congress believes democratisation is paramount to restore public trust to avoid government vacuum.
