Urgency Resolution on Saudi Arabia and Yemen

Notes:

The continuing air attacks by Saudi Arabia in Yemen including the use of banned cluster bombs and strikes which have killed civilians 

The practice of rendition of Saudi political opponents and their subsequent “disappearance”

The prima facie evidence that the Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi was murdered in the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul on 2nd October

Calls for:

The UNSC to condemn the Saudi Government for its disregard for international law and norms

Nations which form part of the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen, or provide logistical and training support, to withdraw their support  and promote peace processes instead

An international tribunal to investigate the Khashoggi and similar cases

Signatories of the Arms Trade Treaty who have not already suspended arms sales to Saudi Arabia to do so forthwith.
