January 6th, we witnessed the worst attack on the world’s oldest democracy, the United States, in over 200 years. President Trump called on his supporters to march together to the Capitol against the results of the elections. This resulted in a horrible breach of the USA Capitol in Washington DC, whereby the officials hiding in the building feared for their lives, leaving 4 dead and dozens hospitalised, and a sacred building, a symbol of democracy worldwide, desecrated in the wake of this violent insurrection.
