Pippa Heylings has lived and worked in climate-affected developing countries for most of her professional life, with 8 years in East Africa and 15 years in South and Central America and the Caribbean. She has dedicated her career to international climate change and social and environmental policy dialogue, working with the United Nations Development Programme, IPBES, governments and a range of social and environmental charities and community organisations. For many years she was CEO of a Latin American NGO specialising in the transformation of social and environmental conflict, working alongside Global South leaders negotiating for climate and environmental justice in the UN negotiations and in national legislation.
Pippa previously served as the Lib Dem Spokesperson on the LGA national Climate Change Task Force, representing local government networks worldwide at COP26, and has been the Deputy Chair on the Environment, Economy, Housing and Transport Board. She is now the Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament for South Cambridgeshire, Lib Dem Spokesperson for Energy Security and Net Zero and member of the Environmental Audit Select Committee.
