Monika Zajkova is one of the youngest members of the Parliament of North Macedonia, and is one of the most active parliamentarians. She serves on the Foreign Affairs Committee and the European Affairs Committee, as well as on the Committee for Equal Opportunities of Women and Men. Further, she sits in the Inter-Parliamentary Group for LGBTI Rights and is has been presiding since last year the Club of Young Parliamentarians. In the parliament she has successfully launched the initiative to modernize and amend the national Law for Prevention of Discrimination, with the explicit inclusion of sexual orientation and personal disability as legally protected categories from discrimination. Part of the law also saw forming a new professional and independent Committee for Protection and Prevention of Discrimination which has since been made operational.
As Vice President of LDP, Monika Zajkova leads the international cooperation of our party. Over the last year she has strengthened and enlarged the international work of LDP, starting new bilateral, regional, and international projects. Over the year she has developed excellent understanding and knowledge of the political and human rights situation across our continent and world-wide. She is dedicated in her work for promotion of human rights and freedom with great passion and enthusiasm.Â
