Michael Kauch has devoted much of his political areer to the struggle for global LGBT rights. During his term as MEP, he addresses the deteriorating situation of LGBT in several countries worldwide and managed to integrate this dimension in a number of human rights resolutions of the European Parliament. As MP in Germany, he has been a strong voice for LGBT human rights in German foreign and development policy, ensuring asylum for severely endangered LGBT activists. Besides his fight for LGBT rights, Michael was involved in different resolutions of the European Parliament in this year, e.g. on Georgia, Russia, Israel, Iran and Afghanistan, pushing for the release of imprisoned human rights activists.
