Senator of the Nawa region and Mayor of the city of Mayo in Côte d’Ivoire, Laure Baflan Donwahi is an Ivorian politician born on March 5, 1973, in Lyon, France. She began her political career in France as city Councilor in Illkirch-Graffenstaden, responsible for social housing, environmental issues, and cultural affairs. As Mayor of Mayo, she and her team have transformed this town of 30,000 inhabitants into a model of local innovation and good governance, recognized across the country and abroad. She was we-elected as Mayor in 2018 and 2023, she also successfully ran twice for Senatorial elections in the Nawa region in 2021 and 2023. Since 2021, she has served as National Secretary of her political party (RHDP) in charge of elected officials, and since 2018, she has been the Deputy Regional Coordinator of her party in charge of Women and Youth.
