Kawtar Mawas is the co-founder and President of the African Liberal Youth (ALYF). First elected during ALYF’s founding congress in Dakar in June 2022, she was re-elected for a second term at the 2nd congress held in Morocco in June 2024. Under her leadership, ALYF expanded the network to over 30 youth wings of liberal organizations and parties across 15 African countries and established offices in Dakar and Abidjan.

In addition to her work with ALYF, Kawtar serves as a Board Member of the Moroccan association Youth & Future and is the former Manager of the Female Leadership Programme within IFLRY.
