Ms. Juliana Nikolova was been active in the North Macedonian politics for over two decades and in 2016 was elected member of the Parliament of on behalf of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). She sits on the Executive Board of LDP and it is President of LDP’s Women Forum. As a member of the Parliament, she is a part of the inter-parliamentary group for human rights and President of inter parliamentarian group for HIV and sexual transmitting diseases.
In the past years, she has been one of our strongest advocates regarding our push for increased recognition of LGBT rights in the Macedonian society. With her support for the first time in the history of Macedonian Parliament was established Inter-parliamentary group for LGBT rights. Before she took her current position, as a president of the Women Forum she had the essential role in the advocacy of rights for women and girls, LGBT rights, education reform and one of the loudest advocate for the implementation of the Istanbul Convention.
She was a professor in a high school before starting her political career. Also, she is a part of the group who prepared the Anti-discrimination Law.
