Joost Dijkshoorn joined the VVD and its youth organisation in 2010. He held various active roles and his  first (active) steps in liberalism were as a board member at the Rotterdam branch of the liberal youth organisation during his studies in international & EU law. After his graduation, Mr Dijkshoorn joined VVD’s party bureau team to work as a legal & board advisor for the national board.  

Today, he continues working for the party as a policy advisor for the VVD delegation in the European Parliament, amongst others on EU LGBTI+ rights. In his free time he is an active board member for LGBTI Liberals of Europe, which is a liberal political LGBTI organisation fighting for equal rights. In LI’s Human Rights Committee, Mr Dijkshoorn would like to look for ways on how the committee can strengthen LGBTI+ rights within our international liberal family.
