In a joint submission ahead of Sudan's fourth Universal Periodic Review (Session 54, January 2027), Liberal International (LI), along with the Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights (RWCHR), exposes a pattern of ethnically motivated attacks against the Fur, Zaghawa, Massalit and other non-Arab groups in Darfur and Kordofan.  

At the 65th Congress of Liberal International, taking place in Bangkok, Thailand, and Taipei, Taiwan, several key leadership positions will be filled through elections in accordance with the federation’s Constitution. These elections are an important part of LI’s democratic governance, providing member parties with the opportunity to shape the federation’s leadership, contribute to its strategic direction and help guide its work in the years ahead.

The NextGen Liberals Mentorship Programme concluded in Istanbul on 2–4 October 2026, bringing together 15 young liberal women leaders from Eastern Europe and Western Balkans for an intensive programme of workshops, mentoring and practical policy development. Organised by Liberal International in cooperation with D66 Internationaal, IFLRY and INLW, the programme combined interactive learning with personalised guidance, giving participants the opportunity to strengthen both their political skills and leadership.
