18th Edition – Gender Equality Report 2020

In the 18th instalment of the human rights bulletin, LI HRC goes online to host webinars, launches the results from the Women In Political Parties Index (WIPPI) Survey in LI’s first-ever Gender Equality Report.

Chair of LI Human Rights Committee Astrid Thors said:

In times of Covid, when rulers want us to turn a blind eye as they grab power using the virus as an excuse, the work we do as liberals and human rights activists is more needed than ever. We are not always able to immediately liberate a friend, but the knowledge that our eyes are on those misbehaving is important and saves lives.

The ALDE Party consists of 60 member parties and thousands of individual members from countries across Europe. Formerly the European Liberal Democrat and Reform (ELDR) party, in 2012, European Liberal Democrat delegates voted to change the name of the party to Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe Party (ALDE) Party to strengthen links with the European Parliamentary group.
