Founded in 2004 in the European Parliament. On 12 June 2019 ALDE Group announced that the successor group in alliance with La République En Marche! would be named to Renew Europe.

The party was founded in August 1947 in Hamburg as a German section of the Liberal World Union (LWU), former name of Liberal International.

Founded in 1986, the DPP is one of two major parties in Taiwan, the party joined Liberal International in 1994 at the Reykjavík Congress

RHDP is an alliance which includes the RDR. The RDR was formed as a liberal offshoot of the ruling party, the Democratic Party of Côte d'Ivoire (PDCI), in 1994, RDR joined Liberal International in 2003 at the Dakar Congress.

The ALDE Party consists of 60 member parties and thousands of individual members from countries across Europe. Formerly the European Liberal Democrat and Reform (ELDR) party, in 2012, European Liberal Democrat delegates voted to change the name of the party to Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe Party (ALDE) Party to strengthen links with the European Parliamentary group.

The party was founded in 1905 as a split from the liberal Venstre Reform Party, Radikale Venstre joined Liberal International in 1948 at the Zurich Congress.
